The Revenge!

Posted by on 6/4/2013

Over the past couple of months I've written several stories involving Cats, perhaps not always portraying them in the most flattering ways. Now, I realize that Cats cannot read. (or can they?) But somehow they knew about the stories, and this past weekend they exacted their revenge by delivering a small present to our back door. A baby bird.

How is this revenge, you ask? Well, this little bird is a baby Blue Jay. I'm sure you're familiar with the incredibly loud, shrill screech of the Blue Jay, which apparently, is the first thing a baby Blue Jay learns. They use it to let you know they're hungry. And they are always hungry! Every fifteen minutes or so, she begins a teeth rattling wail to let me know it's feeding time. And by the way, whoever said that birds sleep at night never had a baby Blue Jay to feed.

After a fitful night with very little sleep, I awoke to the sound of laughter coming from the back porch. But when I looked outside I saw only the Cats, sleeping contentedly in the morning sun. As I closed the door I heard it again....Yes, there was definitely laughter. And possibly snickering. But it was quickly drowned out by the shrill, screeching sound of an always hungry baby Blue Jay.

Are the Cats really out for revenge, or has my imagination simply gotten the best of me? I may never know. But either way, I have decided to name the bird Karma. And clearly in this instance, Karma has come home to roost!

Great products, great prices, and... what? It's feeding time again?!!
