It's been a busy week here at the Internet Mall. Orders are coming in from all over the world, trucks are coming and going and packages are flying off the shelves! The talk around the water cooler is that it's going to be a great summer!

The other day we were sitting in the Internet Lunchroom with some folks from Google, and a couple of sales reps from Zappos joined us. Boring! All they ever talk about is shoes! Don't get me wrong. I love shoes. But I don't want to talk about it every second of every day. Geez, give it a rest, already.

Anyway, we were talking about how everybody thought it was a crazy idea to build a huge mall in the middle of nowhere and put all the Internet companies there. But it's turned out way better than expected. Of course, it isn't perfect having all these companies under one roof, and mistakes tend to get blown way out of proportion. For instance, last week on Pizza Wednesday they got the order backwards and delivered seventeen-thousand Veggie Pizzas and only one Pepperoni! The staff over at Weight Watchers was pretty unhappy about that!

And Mondays can get a little crazy with all the weekend orders being processed. Especially when Amazon runs out of space and starts stacking boxes and packages in the hallways. The UPS drivers are running around everywhere, getting in the way, knocking things over, blocking the hallways. What can Brown do for you? Well, you can get the heck out of my parking space, to begin with!

But by five o'clock things have usually settled down, which is fine with the night shift, because they don't get much work done anyway. It's mostly goofing off, flying remote controlled airplanes through the building, playing soccer, racing Segways, dropping water balloons from the 87th floor stairway, you know, the usual night shift stuff.

All in all, I'd say the Internet Mall was a pretty good idea. I've met a lot of nice people and great companies. I just wish those soft drink survey guys would leave me alone. Can't a person like Coke AND Pepsi?
