Following the recent holiday, last week was very busy, and of course, very stressful. So when Friday arrived, I did what any other stressed out employee would do; I traveled with friends to Italy. The weather is absolutely perfect this time of year, and the people were so friendly! We ate lunch on the steps of the Coliseum, visited the museums in Florence, and even had time for a Gondola ride through Venice, before returning home.

Okay, maybe we didn't exactly go to Italy. Actually, we watched movies about Italy all weekend, such as Under the Tuscan Sun, La Dolce Vita, and The Italian Job. We listened to Andrea Bocelli's music, tried making our own Pasta, read poetry while relaxing under the Olive trees out back, and said "Ciao baby" a lot.

Now, maybe that's not your idea of a relaxing weekend, but it was pretty nice to turn off the outside world for a couple of days. There was no television, no bad news, no noise, and perhaps most importantly, no cell phones. Life in our makeshift Italian villa was peaceful and fun, and the rest of the world passed by un-noticed.

Of course, reality came roaring back on Monday. But now, I think I can make it until my next stay at home weekend... in tropical Costa Rica! Although, I'm not sure how the neighbors will feel about all those monkeys climbing around in their trees?
