Q: Capacity / Readability: 500g x 0.01g, ozt, oz, dwt, ct, gn The above line in the description leads one to believe that it can weigh carats within 0.01ct capacity, but I'm doubtful of this as scales of this capacity usually only weigh carats to 0.1... Can you confirm either way?

A: The PLATINUM PRO501VXP scale, which has a capacity of 500g and a readability of 0.01g, can indeed be used to weigh in carats with a precision up to two decimal places. Since 1 carat equals 0.2 grams, the scale's 0.01g readability translates to 0.05 carats. Thus, you can get two decimal places of precision for carats, but it will be in increments of 0.05 carats.
