Tibetan turquoise beads are mined and processed in the Hubei provence of China. Most Chinese turquoise is made from white magnesite and has been enhanced through a number of treatments, which can include wax treatment, resin stabilization and/or dye.

These beads are probably my favorite out of the whole batch that was on my most recent order. The weight these beads have is superb. When wearing them they are significant and feel and look like luxurious stones.

Q: ARE they genuine turqouise or are they howlite, magnesite, or other?

A: Tibetan turquoise is typically made from magnesite that has been mined in the Hubei provence in China. Initially, the material is chalk white with dark veining throughout. The material is then treated to achieve the desired color and resemblance to that of real turquoise.
