Q: What does half round mean? Can this be used to make earring wires?

A: Half round means one side of the wire is flat and the other side is round. Ear wires are typically made with round wire. Half Round Wire is normally used for wire wrapping cabochons or other stones.

Q: What is the best product to wrap a stone?Half hard or dead soft wire? I'm looking at half round...

A: either works well. Half hard wire retains it shape a little better once it has been bent. Dead soft is a bit easier to work with.

A: Dead soft is best for wire wrapping.
