Great fittings

I have used many of these and the quality is consistently good. Well formed and even prongs. Work great on round and square stones with proper girdle thickness. Great service too

Least- see other review. I think they should be priced with and dispensed with earring backs. Option to select if Don't Want earring backs

5mm easy setting

this item fits great around a properly measured gemstone . took only seconds to set it properly . price is set to resell at a decent profit while not ripping customers off .nice thick prongs to assure you that stone wont pop out

Perfect for smaller gems

The 4mm size is perfect for the top holes. My wife is having me make a few dozen more. As long as the gem you are using has a normal width girdle, the snap & set mounts are perfect.

Pretty Good

They snap in very easily, hold, and take 2 seconds!!! The only down is that when they come from the factory some of the prongs aren't quite long enough so just tug on the stone and make sure that they won't fall out

Q: I have 5.5 mm gem stones. What size snap on earring finding should I get? 5mm or 6mm. Thank you.

A: they might fit the 5mm but we cannot guarantee it as the settings are designed for 5 or 6 mm.

Q: I have a heart-shaped 4mm stone. Will these work?

A: I would say no. Without knowing the mohs of the heart stone that you have, the pressure and resulting "snap" of the finding on the stone may damage it rather than set it correctly. This is why crystals aren't recommended with these findings, it's the action of the prong sliding over the thin part of the stone (girdle) that causes damage.
Furthermore, the finding works well for round stones as the pressure is distributed evenly across the stone when downward force is applied to the finding to seat the stone.
With a different shape like a heart, this pressure may be too great in more delicate areas of the stone (like the top of the heart) and the prongs themselves may not meet up on the stone accurately enough to provide good security while wearing.

Q: I have 2 4mm heart shaped stones. What posts should I use? I am having a hard time finding out what I need to use.

A: We sell padded post earrings that may work well for you if the back of your stones are flat. You would secure the flat (padded) portion of the earring post to the flat portion of the stone with epoxy and allow to cure fully before assembling or wearing.

Q: I am wondering why these are not recommended for Swarovski crystals? What do you recommend for earring posts with Swarovski crystals?

A: Swarovski crystals are fragile and are unable to withstand snapping into the setting and have a tendency to chip or crack. The chatons are best used in glue in setting that have a pre made cup.

Q: Will this snap in stud take a round 8mm crystal bead?

A: Unfortunately it will not work with crystal beads. It is meant more for Cubic Zirconia as they are a harder stone. Crystals can chip when you snap them in.
