Robots?

The company recently purchased several new, state of the art, voice activated Automated Receiving and Storage Systems. Basically, they look like a cross between R2D2 and Robbie the Robot.

Their job is to travel up and down the warehouse aisles, and using incredibly sophisticated GPS technology, pick each order carefully and accurately. There are six of them, and they're only supposed to supplement, not replace, the real live human beings who pick most of the orders.

At first, everything was great! They were kind of cute, and it was entertaining watching them zip up and down the aisles, picking orders.

The problem is, they're pretty fast, and if one comes up behind you it's supposed to give a loud buzz to let you know it's passing by. But, because the music, air compressors, and other equipment are so loud in the warehouse, no one could hear the buzzers. So some rocket scientist (probably from the Receiving Dept) rewired their systems.

Now, every time one of them passes by it sends out a little jolt of static electricity. Whoa, that gets your attention! Suddenly everybody is moving a lot faster!

I heard this morning that the Robots are all being promoted to Supervisor positions. They're not much good at paperwork, or scheduling work hours, or solving employee issues, or handling complicated inventory systems. But boy, they know how to get people moving!

Great products, great prices, and I wonder if they could help motivate the Sales team?
