It will happen. You didn't think much about it at the time, and really, it wasn't that big of a deal. In fact, you forgot about it within a few hours. But, it's still out there. Waiting. It's going to happen, and nothing you do or say will prevent it. It's just a matter of time.

It will happen on a beautiful Spring day. The kind of day that makes you thankful to be alive. Flowers will be blooming, birds will be singing, and a few pillow shaped clouds will float aimlessly across the sky. Chances are you'll have a few friends over for an afternoon barbecue.

Just about the time you're sitting down to dinner, toasting the beautiful day with your wonderful friends, it will happen. You'll get just a hint of it at first, wafting in on the breeze. Hardly even noticeable. But, as the temperature rises, it will grow stronger. Much stronger. At first, there will be a few uncomfortable, accusatory glances between guests, mostly women glaring at their husbands. But, clearly, something far more sinister is happening. Within moments your eyes will begin to burn and it will become difficult to breathe.

Shortly thereafter, the exodus will begin. Simple excuses, brief apologies, forgotten commitments, etc. Soon, everyone will be gone. It will be quiet. Too quiet. You'll feel it with every fiber in your body; a powerful presence, overwhelming your senses. What could it be?!!

That's when you'll remember; there were several unaccounted for Eggs at your annual Easter Egg hunt. And now, they're back. In all their rotten, smelly glory!
