I know these are on the cheaper side but have there been any issues with these kind of pieces tarnishing or changing color?

A:
The plating on these will last and not change color as long as they are not worn in the the shower or while swimming and are not worn constantly. They are meant to be used with costume jewelry .

Base Metal is defined as "any non-precious metal e.g. copper, zinc, nickel, brass. Can be plated with silver, gold, gunmetal, copper or brass".
