Our fossilized coral rectangle beads are shaped from natural forming stone and appear in a variety of 'earthy' tones from light tan to reddish brown to a slate gray. Each package of flat rectangular stone beads contains a mix of colors and patterns with the coral appearing as small flowering shapes.
Over time, ancient coral has been gradually replaced with agate. Most specimens are found in Georgia and Florida (which in 1979 became Florida’s state stone). Sailors used to wear talismans of fossilized coral to ward off bad weather. People wear coral to ward off the ‘evil eye’, and is commonly associated with the female reproductive system.
