Will this work with 1mm cord?

A:
the flat portion can be crimped down onto almost any size cord (use a drop of glue also) the width is about 3.5mm when closed.

Would this crimp down tight enough to secure fishing line?

I think this crimp would be too wide, it also doesn't have any grip on the inside. I think our CR2500 would probably work better for fishing line.
