Q: What is the base metal for these and do they contain any nickle?

A: Sorry for the delay in responding. Brass is the base metal and there is not any nickel in the gold filled products.

Q: Do these tarnish over time?

A: This item does have a brass core so it can tarnish. It is recommended that it is stored in an airtight bag with an anti tarnish tab such as our item number AT125. If it does become tarnished it can be easily cleaned with a polishing cloth.
