Watch battery replacement by a jeweler is expensive and I wanted to do the replacements myself.

Can the watch case wrench be used to open screw backs with flats and also screw backs with notches?

A:
I know it works with watch backs that have notches. I am unfamiliar with screw back watches that have flats. Most flat watch backs have a lip somewhere on the edge to use a bench knife to pop it off.

Q:
If this is 3.5" wide, why won't it open a 50mm watch case? Specs are wrong. You said no watch opener can do 50mm but there are many oversized watches. I need a 45mm watch opener so I want to know width of these pins exactly ctr to ctr please. Why is this measurement missing?

It opens from 16.5 - 34.5 mm (0.65 - 1.35”) between the clamps. Comes in a wood box that measures 18.0 x 8.0 x 3.2 cm (7 x 3 x 1.25”).
