Fire Polishing: After a Glass Bead is created, the bead is once again subjected to heat and flame. This intense heat melts the surface of the bead, smoothing the rough edges and flat surface areas. As the bead cools, it retains the "soft" finish, which makes for a beautiful, uniformly shaped bead, featuring great depth and clarity.

These are wonderful beads, great quality too. I used them in a memory wire bracelet of similar colors. This 8 mm bead was the center one of a group of five.

Little lighter that the photo
