Q: How exactly do you "crimp" this? Wouldn't crimping ruin the design? It is lovely, but I'm not sure how to use. Can you share some basic guidelines? Thank you!

A: If you use a pair of crimping pliers it wont distort the design too much. You will want to squeeze the open ends closed to secure the clasp.
