Good brand

This brand has worked well. I haven't used it much but also haven't had any problems with breakage even though it is only .5mm

Slippery - prone to coming undone

This type of elastic cord is slippery, so it's more prone to becoming undone when slipping bracelets on and off, even following the knotting instructions on the back of the roll. Best solution might be to string beads with hole sizes that would snugly fit the knot.

Q: I am making an anklet...do you just tie a square knot to join the ends together then try and put the knot in the hole of one of the beads?

A: That is a good way to join the ends. You can also add a small dot of cement glue or use a crimp tube made for stretch cord such as our item number CR2521.

Q: I have a stretch bracelet that broke. I didn't make it, I bought it many years ago. The sections are a pewter-like metal with a crystal embedded in each and have 2 holes in each end. The remaining elastic is super fine. It's similar to 26 or 24 gauge wire. I've never done this type of project before. Is this the bead cord I need?

Q: Can I use this size for the tiny holes in seed beads?

A: As long as the holes in your seed beads are more than .5mm then you can use this bead cord.

Q: Will this work (thin enough) for 2.2mm seed beads? Or would a different thickness be better?

A: The best way to know what size to get is to go with a cord that is closest to the size of the holes in your beads. If the hole size is 1mm you can go with one that is thicker like .8mm.
