EASY ON AND EASY OFF

At 82, reaching behind my head to fasten chains got harder every day. Taking them off was even harder. Now, I enjoy wearing a pendant every day and don't have to worry that I'll break a chain during a struggle.

Great for seniors

My Mom is 92 and can no longer manage clasps on her necklaces. The magnetic clasp makes it possible for her to wear jewelry again.

Q: what size magnetic clasp should I buy for a heavy necklace?

A: Magnetic clasps are recommended for those jewelry designs that are light to medium weight due to the fact that there is no other security device than the attraction of the magnet when the two pieces are near one another. If you consider your necklace to be heavy, a magnetic clasp may not provide the security you would want when wearing it. Please look at some of our sterling silver clasps - we have hook and eye as well as toggle clasps that can be easy to use and are great for use with heavier style necklaces.

Q: When you say the magnetic clasp is best for light to medium jewelry, can you please quantify what you mean? How many ounces of beads and findings can be supported by a magnetic clasp?

A: The Pull Strength is about 8.07lbs per square inch.
