Project Instructions:
1) Take the 9” length of beading wire and thread on one crimp tube and the bar half of the toggle clasp. Take the wire around and back through the crimp tube. Cinch the crimp tube up so that it’s fairly close to the loop on the toggle clasp half. Allow the toggle clasp some movement, don’t cinch the crimp tube up so tight that the toggle can’t move. Crimp the tube with your crimping pliers. Cut off any excess wire tail with your side cutters.
2) Close a crimp cover over the crimped tube from step #1 using the outermost indent on your crimping pliers. Do this slowly, and reposition the crimping pliers constantly to achieve a uniform close on the crimp cover.
3) Close another crimp cover over the wire right next to the other crimp cover from step #2. This time, you won’t be closing it over a crimped tube, so you can close it off the beading wire, if it’s easier to do so and then thread it onto the wire after you’ve closed it. *You do this step so that the Bar Half of the Toggle will fit easily through the Round Half of the Toggle. Otherwise, your bracelet would not have enough clearance to make it through the round half of the toggle.*
4) Begin your beadwork -
- 1 - Bead Cap
- 1 - Porcelain Bead
- 1 - Bead Cap
- 1 - Poppy Jasper Bead
5) Thread on the remaining crimp tube and the other round half of the toggle clasp. Thread the wire around and back through the crimp tube. Pull the crimp tube up so that it’s fairly close to the toggle clasp half, but you’ll be closing the final crimp cover over this crimp tube, so make sure that you allow room for this to happen. Crimp the tube with your crimping pliers when the tube is positioned correctly, and cut off any remaining wire tail with your side cutters. <
