Overhand Knot.
Step One  |
Make a loop with the thread. |
Step Two  |
Bring one end of the thread under, then through the loop |
Step Three  |
Pull to tighten. |
Square Knot (Granny Knot).
Step One  |
Bring left hand thread over the right-hand cord and around. |
Step Two

Cross right over left and go through the loop. |
Step Three 
|
Pull the knot snug. |
