Discovered by a prospector in 1967, Tanzanite can appear ultramarine to blue, and give a purplish hue when turned to the light. It is actually a blue zoisite that was renamed Tanzanite by Tiffany and Co. because of where it was discovered. It is said to awaken the mind and the heart, and ease ones’ blood pressure. It can sometimes fool one into thinking it’s a sapphire. |
