Fossil Walrus is primarily found on St. Lawrence island and on Alaska (both on the mainland and up and down the coast) Colors that occur throughout the beads are caused by the minerals that surrounded the specimen. Iron and maganese create the browns and oranges, while any blue or green is caused by copper. Red can occur too, but its very rare, as its caused by gold! Most fossilized walrus is between five hundred and three thousand years old! |
